My
first ever snowboarding lesson happened on...
Sunday, January 9th! Starting my new year with some new moves and some new experiences! Yeah!
When I first got the gears, I was dead happy- wait, MAD happy! I get to camwhore with these awesome gears! I saw people on Youtube,
LOOKED SO FREAKIN MAD COOL doing the falling leaf and all... Envious.
So my friends decided to do a snowboarding trip, supposedly done on Saturday, but postponed to Sunday due to schedule complications. It was a trip! Had a whole groupie waking up in the wee hours to beat the traffic and the time before 9:30a for the lesson to start. During the 2 hours ride, fogs and clouds covered the sunrise :( so we can't see much view. It was pathetic, but fun nonetheless to have spend the morning with the coolest people!
When we got there, EVERYTHING was BRIGHT as WOO (Can't describe!) It was all WHITE! We met up with the others and checked in ourselves into the system. Got a locker and ZOOMED out to the SNOW!

The first time I wore my snowboard to my left foot (I'm a regular, and those who use right-foot is called the groovy) the thing felt like 5lbs literally just weighing down my leg to the max. The instructor instructed us to maintain our "left" leg to be bounded to the snowboard (like a skateboard) and pick up the adjacent foot and place it to the remaining space on the board to ride it. It was hell at first, since we had to literally walked a thousand miles up the slope (with elevator and walked your tired a** up to the top of the slope mountain). Once you fall, there's no going back. It's so HARD to get up. It's insane. He gave us two methods: The Michael Jackson way (toe point) or the Heel way (regular heel stop). I had trouble at first, but after awhile (it took some 30000 tries) I finally get myself up up and away down.
This sport really really really requires upper and lower body strength. If you're like me, wimpy and lame, you need to toughen up and get all of your energy that you've saved up from last year into this! I've never felt so tired in all my life (since I don't do these kinds of sports).

Skiing rather than snowboarding- I guess I'll try that next!
